About the Therapist
My work as a counsellor is focused solely on supporting people from the LGBTQ+ community. Using Transactional Analysis (TA), I support people to live life with greater autonomy, whether related to dealing with past issues or living life with greater authenticity today. TA is all about change, so together we will explore the issues you bring to sessions and look to find ways to change how you think, feel and behave in relation to these problems. I am experienced in supporting people with many mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, suicide, identity, loneliness, and relationships.

Navigating the world with an LGBTQ identity can be exciting, living life in ways you never thought possible when you were younger. However, it can also be difficult, as the world around you doesn't always mirror who you are. This can have all kinds of effects on our sense of self, our identity and our mental health.
The psychotherapeutic counselling I offer, using Transactional Analysis, is based on nurturing your sense of self to bring about change. By doing this, you will be able to develop your confidence, clarity, and thought to deal with the issues you face. For example, you may have problems with an identifiable connection to your identity or issues that have developed more subtly. You may know what you want to change or don't, so some exploration together needs to occur to discover the source of a problem. I am experienced in supporting people with many mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, suicide, identity, loneliness, and relationships.
Speaking to a therapist from the community can sometimes be necessary, as they will also have navigated the social world regarding their identity. You won't have to explain your identity before discussing the issues you bring to therapy.
