About the Therapist
My career in Art Psychotherapy and Clinical Supervision combines my life interests in arts, psychology of people, symbolism, metaphors and dreams. I provide Art Psychotherapy to clients who struggle to make sense of their life experiences and emotions. I assist them to find their own capacity for creative thinking, in-depth expression and exploration through art making and talking about their process helps them to manage their own wellbeing. I also provide creative clinical supervision to trainees and fully qualified psychotherapists/counsellors. I use creative methods that support supervisory space and widens the vision of the therapeutic work whilst maintaining a safe and ethical practice. I am experienced with a wide variety of client groups and mental health conditions, with adults, including: learning disabilities; autism, emotional abuse; sexual abuse; bereavement, race, identity, cultural, gender and LGBTQI+ related issues.

I have experience of working with individuals and couples. My couple work includes issues related to interracial couples, which may include navigating unique challenges, such as external societal prejudices, disapproval from family and friends, cultural or communication and values differences.
My orientation is predominantly humanistic. As an Art Psychotherapist, I tailor my approach to the individual client. This means sometimes working with what clients bring on the day, working in the 'here and now' moment and using Gestalt techniques to interact with the arts. I also work psychodynamically, meaning we look at how events in your past may be affecting your psyche in the present. I invite the transpersonal into our work as we explore how other aspects of your experiences besides cognitive thinking, such as the somatic and spiritual, can contribute to your psychological health.
