These are psychotherapists and counsellors. Although there is a separate category for sex- and sexuality-related practitioners, most therapists in this category will certainly discuss sexual issues, and many will work with them.
I’m Lou, a queer MNCPS Accredited therapist working with adults of all sexual and gender identities, and with both mainstream and more alternative lifestyles and beliefs. I have been working with LGBTQ+ clients for 13 years and have supported clients with a variety of issues, especially around identity and gaining deeper self-knowledge, around marginalisation and navigating life in a heteronormative capitalist society, and also on major life changes and emotional literacy. I have particular experience working with neurodivergence, supporting trans people through social and medical transition, chronic illness, and midlife & menopause.
Hello, my name is Gareth, I am an experienced (BACP) British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy Accredited Counsellor and have been working in this field for over 10 years. I offer a calm and safe place for clients who are experiencing emotional issues and distress to talk about how they are feeling, and what is causing them concern. I use an integrative approach, which means I see everyone as unique, so the counselling techniques will be tailored to your needs and personal circumstances and will help you feel more resilient and able to manage current and future changes.

I am a counsellor working from rooms in Holborn/Chancery Lane and Hackney. I also provide counselling online. The largest part of my work is with Queer / LGBTQ+ clients, and I have previously worked with two LGBTQ+ organisations (Switchboard and East London Out Project). I have had additional specialist training from Gendered Intelligence and Pink Therapy. My core training is in humanistic counselling so I am trained in a range of approaches, but primarily practice using gestalt therapy. I am committed to a trans-affirming, queer-affirming, anti-racist approach.
I’m Lauren, a Humanistic Psychotherapist and Counsellor offering online therapy to help you explore and process the challenges in your life, supporting you in making meaningful changes to live more fully and authentically. I am a trans-friendly and LGBT+ affirmative therapist with a special focus on gender, sexuality, and identity. My name is Matthew, I am a qualified integrative therapist working in-person in Hampstead, and online across the UK. My professional journey began in 2009 through completion of a certificate course in counselling skills and I have since graduated from a BSc (Hons) in Counselling, a degree accredited by the BACP where I am also a registered member. My dissertation project was about the psychotherapeutic experiences of men engaged in chemsex, an area of particular interest to me. I also have interest in the relationship between sexuality and religion, an area I hold developmental training for.
Queer people deserve queer therapists. Being LGBTQIA+ is an incredible gift, but it can also be immensely challenging. I know the power that therapy has to bring individual change. That can translate into the wellbeing of our community.
Race, gender, sexuality, culture and family history all affect our sense of self. If you are struggling with your identity, talking about things may help. As a result of my lived experience and training, I specialise in issues around identity and offer a safe space for you to explore what is getting in the way of you leading the life you want to lead. I offer an initial consultation session to talk about your hopes for therapy and to give you a chance to experience what sessions would be like with me.
