I don’t view the world with heteronormative eyes and I certainly don’t in the therapy room. I’m a therapist passionate about creating a safe and supportive space for people to explore who they are and what they need. I also specialise in working with clients who are neurodivergent or those who who suspect that they are. I believe therapy should feel like a place where you can share openly, and feel truly understood. I support LGBTQ+ individuals by embracing their authentic selves and finding confidence in their identities. 

For many years, I didn’t believe in therapy. I thought friends and family could support us through difficulties and didn’t see the need for professional therapists.   But my views changed when a close friend went through a very painful period in their life and had counselling. I saw how therapy transformed them and began to think differently about it. I realised that, while the support of loved ones may be sufficient for some, for many it is invaluable to talk to someone objective, who is professionally trained to help.

I currently work in private practice, providing psychological therapy to people across the UK, and also in private transgender healthcare.

Counselling/Psychotherapy can help us understand better how we behave, what motivates us, and how past experiences can affect current behaviour. By expressing whatever is uppermost in our mind, feelings, thoughts, wishes, fears, memories and dreams can be explored within the safety of the therapeutic relationship. The aim being to enable us to find more appropriate ways of coping with our difficulties and to bring about changes in our thinking, feeling and behaviour. Through exploration therapy hopes to enable us to live a more fulfilling life and reach our full potential in the face of life’s limitations.

I’m Max (he/him), a queer counsellor working with LGBTQ+ adults who feel disconnected – from community, from relationships, from themselves. I work online and in-person in Camden King’s Cross, Wimbledon, and Croydon.

I mostly work with people on their significant relationships – with family, partners, and themselves. I see both couples and individuals looking for insight, change or a deeper understanding of themselves. I have shedloads of experience, both inside and outside the counselling room. I came out in my 20’s, and have a special interest in the process of people finding and embracing their core sexual and gender identify.  I also work with people within a broad range of consensual, non-traditional relationships.
