I am a relational, integrative therapist working in Islington and Hackney, London. I work with individuals aged 18+ in long-term, short-term and open-ended therapy. I am queer and genderqueer. My practice is actively queer and trans affirmative, which means that I support clients’ agency to define themselves. I work with LGBTQIA+ clients on a range of emotional and relational experiences, including: abuse, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, gender, isolation, loss, relational trauma, relationships, self-harm, sex, sexuality, trauma and more.

I currently have daytime and early evening availability. I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and my approach to therapy has been informed by both person-centred and psychodynamic approaches, alongside attention to what our bodies might hold and can tell us. This means that as well as recognising you as the expert on your own experiences, we may look back at some of your early and family history and how those relationships may be influencing what is happening for you in the present.

My approach is holistic, which means I will be curious about your whole life; from your inner world, to the people that surround you and the structures you exist in.  Whether you know what it is that is causing you distress or you just feel lost and anxious and you don’t know why, I believe you have the answers within you and it is my role is to support you to find your way back to your inner wisdom, self belief and joy. I describe myself as a citizen of the world, learning how to walk gently on Earth. My work brings together queer culture and eco response-ability with a soulful perspective. In my free time I enjoy being outdoors; walking, meditating, and expressing myself through creative languages.

 I have a longstanding private practice based in North East London ( Clapton). My specialist interests are developmental trauma, relationality, gender, sexuality, shame, couples work and psychosexual issues. I worked as a therapist and assessor for the East London Out Project (ELOP). I also have experience running groups within the NHS. I am currently training as a group psychotherapist.

Hello, I’m Rachael. I’m an LGBTQ-identified Person-centred Psychotherapist (UKCP Registered) with ten years experience of working with clients. I have extensively worked with LGBTQIA+ clients exploring their life experiences, sexuality and gender identities as well as working with clients who identify as asexual/ace. I have experience of working with clients who have wished to work with an LGBTQ-identified therapist to discuss life experiences not necessarily connected with their gender or sexuality.

I am a counsellor working from rooms in Hackney City Farm and in Holborn. I also provide counselling online.The largest part of my work is with Queer / LGBTQ+ clients, and I have previously worked with two LGBTQ+ organisations (Switchboard and East London Out Project). I have had additional specialist training from Gendered Intelligence and Pink Therapy. My core training is in humanistic counselling so I am trained in a range of approaches, but primarily practice using gestalt therapy. I am committed to a trans-affirming, queer-affirming, anti-racist approach.
