I am a friendly, qualified and experienced psychotherapist, a registered and accredited MBACP. I have been involved with counselling and psychotherapy since the early 1990s when I worked with radical community and activist mental health services as a provider and participant. This remains a passion. I draw on social justice frameworks and particularly welcome people who are neurodivergent, fat, poly, working class or doing sex work. I often work with people who are new to therapy or who have had mediocre experiences previously.

I provide an environment which is kink, sexuality, and consensual non-monogamy/polyamory positive, and LGBTQIA+ friendly. I’m also familiar with neurodiversity and queer gender identity/expression. I’m Hal, I’ve been working now for over 9 years as a humanistic therapist. As required, I add aspects of neuroscience and mindfulness/Buddhist angles to my work. My work usually begins by me letting you just be. In my therapy space I’ll not only offer you safety, but you’ll always be supported to feel whatever comes up: be it you being pissed off, anxious, sad, insecure, stressed, bored, vulnerable, fed up… it’s all valid.

**For the moment I am not able to take on new clients.** In my practice I aim to listen without judgement, and help each client follow their own journey. This is often about trying to make sense of the client’s past history and present experience. So whatever you bring, I will be happy to listen and then work with you to understand where you’re at and where you want to go from here.
