Sunya Ananta
About the Therapist
I am trained in the CATT (Children’s Accelerated Trauma Treatment) model and I work with PTSD symptoms in individuals. When a person comes to see me, my approach is very much working towards healing the inner child, and my therapy room is resourced with a sand tray, music and other mediums when words are just not enough. Sometimes our trauma’s origins are pre verbal, so the healing needs also to be non-verbal. I offer many lenses to help my clients and I navigate this human experience. The drama & movement therapy lens sees the body as the visible canvas to the invisible mind. How it moves and is moved is the tools we work with towards transformation, towards integration. The tantra lens enables us to see our sexuality and our attractions as an unfolding of a soul. There is no spiritual/sexual divide. The Native American shamanic tradition I have been initiated into, expands our sexuality and relational capacities to merge with the cosmos. Our belonging expands towards our “other than human” family members who firmly and lovingly take their rightful place in our inner circle. In your work with me, these will be the fertile grounds upon which we shall commune.

As a Drama & Movement therapist, I use a non-interpretative method of working, which brings in the imagination and body to explore, play and allow solutions to emerge from the unconscious, without the interference of the conscious- mind. My work is underpinned by Jungian theory and Depth Psychology and I encourage my clients to keep a dream diary as part of their work with me. If you feel drawn to working with me, let's talk.
