Ellie Cree
About the Therapist
My therapeutic style is collaborative, dynamic and curious. I don't see therapy as somewhere you simply come to talk while I listen. I see therapy as a shared investigation into you.
I'll ask questions, notice patterns, make observations and encourage us to explore what's happening both in your life and within the therapeutic relationship itself. I also encourage you to tell me when something doesn't feel right, challenge my thinking and let us be curious together. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine collaboration rather than something that is done to you.
Whilst I work at your pace and will always prioritise emotional safety, I won't shy away from exploring difficult experiences or gently challenging patterns that may no longer be serving you.

I work integratively, drawing primarily from psychodynamic and relational approaches. Together we'll explore not only the difficulties you're experiencing now, but also how earlier relationships, life experiences and wider social messages may continue to shape how you think, feel and relate today.
I have both professional and lived experience of working with and being part of LGBTQ+ and relationship-diverse communities. My aim is to offer a space where every aspect of your identity and relationships can be explored without judgement, assumptions or the need to educate your therapist.
Alongside working with anxiety, trauma, relationships and self-esteem, I have a particular interest in supporting LGBTQ+ clients, people exploring or questioning gender and sexuality, consensual non-monogamy, polyamory, kink and alternative relationship structures. I recognise that many of the challenges people experience arise not from identity itself, but from shame, minority stress, discrimination and the pressure to fit expectations that may not feel authentic.
I also work with couples and intimate partners. In this work, I see the relationship itself as the client. Together we'll explore communication, recurring patterns and the emotional experiences that sit beneath conflict, helping each person to feel heard whilst developing a deeper understanding of one another.
