Emiliano Servo
About the Therapist
I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor and a registered member of BACP. I hold a BSc in Counselling and a Master's degree in Political Science. Alongside my clinical work, I have a longstanding interest in philosophy and in understanding how people make sense of themselves, their relationships and the wider world.
At the heart of my practice is the belief that therapy works through the quality of the relationship we build together. My role is not to interpret your life through a set of assumptions, but to meet you with curiosity, respect and genuine openness.
I work affirmatively with LGBTQIA+ clients and with people whose lives may include BDSM, kink, fetish, consensual non-monogamy or other forms of gender, sexual and relationship diversity. These experiences are not something I view through a lens of pathology or judgement, nor are they something I expect clients to educate me about before meaningful work can begin.
Like everyone else, clients within these communities come to therapy for many different reasons: anxiety, relationships, loss, trauma, self-esteem, identity, life transitions or simply wanting to understand themselves more deeply. Sometimes these aspects of identity are central to the work; sometimes they are simply part of the background. I believe clients should be free to decide that for themselves.
Above all, I aim to offer a therapeutic relationship where you can arrive as you are, knowing that every aspect of your identity is welcome within the room.

My approach is integrative, rooted in person-centred values and informed by humanistic and existential philosophy. I work collaboratively, recognising that no single therapeutic model can fully capture the complexity of an individual life.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I am interested in how people experience themselves and the relationships that shape their lives. Together we might explore questions of meaning, identity, intimacy, belonging, freedom or the ways in which past experiences continue to influence the present.
Within LGBTQIA+ and GSRD communities, many people have experienced misunderstanding, invisibility or assumptions made about their identities and relationships. I see the world from a non-heteronormative perspective and my aim is that therapy offers something different: a place where diversity is understood as part of the fabric of human experience, allowing us to focus on the challenges, strengths and possibilities that are unique to you.
I see therapy as a shared process of reflection rather than a search for quick answers. My hope is that, through a relationship grounded in empathy, authenticity and trust, clients become more able to live in ways that feel coherent with who they are.
