About the Therapist
I believe it is important to work from an intersectional lens, because if we are not seeing all of the clients intersections, we are not really seeing them at all. As someone who is neurodivergent, mixed race with a trans history, I understand the importance of how these parts of ourselves are an integral part of who we are and how we operate in the world.

I am trained integratively, which means I draw from different modalities such as person centred and psychodynamic, however I don't use technical jargon with clients and have a relational approach. The most important ingredient to therapy is the relationship; so I like to get to know my clients so they can build trust in me. It can be a scary prospect talking to someone you don't know. I am generally client lead, meaning that we focus on areas you want to bring to sessions. I appreciate sometimes that can feel overwhelming, so we can talk in partnership about how best to approach sessions. When working with clients I look through an intersectional lens which focuses on how parts of their identities, whether privileged or oppressed (or anywhere in between) have shaped their world view & how this affects their mental health & wellbeing. I offer long & short term therapy options & work at a pace you feel comfortable with. Sessions are either 50 minutes or 80 minutes.
