Over more than twenty-five years practicing as a massage therapist, I found many of my clients wanted to talk and share their thoughts and the difficulties they were facing in their lives as well as receive the healing touch of massage, so starting my training to become a counsellor in 2012 seemed the most logical way forward for me. It had become clear too that mind and body were not just two sides of the same person, but inextricably entwined and responding to life events together, perhaps even unconsciously.

I believe talking therapy can change lives, helping people grow and become stronger physically and emotionally, but I also know that no two people are the same, so there are no ‘one size fits all’ treatments. I combined different types of massage during my treatments, depending on the needs of my client and now, as an integrative psychotherapist, I do the same thing, as I draw on different models of therapy.
For the last few years, I have been on the register of approved therapists for SAYiT, a charity supporting LGBTQI+ young people, and worked with many as they navigate relationships, identity, transition and their place in the world.
