About the Therapist
Hi there, welcome and thank you for your visit.
I'm Bonnie, and I believe that knowing who your therapist is as a human being is crucial in deciding whether we might be a good fit for working together. I am a queer, bilingual Chartered Clinical Psychologist who has lived, studied, and worked in Hong Kong, Canada, and the UK. I appreciate the ways our identities and life experiences shape who we are and how we move through the world, as well as the very human desire to be seen in the fullness of our identities - without judgment or assumptions.
We can all need a dedicated space outside of our day-to-day lives to receive support and reflect on certain issues on our minds. Perhaps you’d like to explore how your early life experiences have shaped your present attachments and relationships. Or you might be seeking guidance on major life transitions, self-esteem issues, harsh self-talk, shame, or guilt. Maybe you have a vague sense that something is wrong but can’t quite put your finger on it. Whatever you bring, I am committed to ensuring you feel respected, seen, and heard in all of our interactions. No matter how big or small these feelings are, I will be alongside you on your journey - to bear witness and provide support. I am also a firm believer that there’s space within the therapeutic process for creativity - such as the use of imagery work and also bringing in your favourite literature/TV/movies/arts as anchors to discuss your emotional experiences. I am here to make space for tears, but also for humour and celebrations of your humanity.
In the therapy room, I bring warmth, authenticity, and a genuine curiosity about your story. I strive to hold your experiences with nuance, and I hope you can feel safe knowing that I see you as a whole person in all your complexities. It is important to me that I support you in exploring your experiences with compassion and sensitivity, and in helping you set down some of the burdens you've been carrying.
If you think we might be a good fit, please feel free to arrange a call to get a sense of how I work. I feel deeply privileged when people trust me with their stories, and I hope to have the opportunity to be part of your journey toward self-discovery, healing, and growth.

My clinical expertise includes supporting individuals of all genders and sexual orientations in addressing a diverse range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, shame or guilt, low self-esteem/self-worth, adverse childhood or early life experiences, interpersonal problems, major life changes, issues related to living with chronic/life-limiting/terminal illnesses.
I also have extensive experience in working with individuals living with HIV at one of Europe's largest HIV clinics, adults and young people struggling with their gender identity and sexuality or related issues such as discrimination and prejudice, those undergoing a variety of gender affirmation processes, and people who would like to reduce their chem use in the context of chemsex.
My therapeutic approach integrates various empirically-supported treatment frameworks. I utilise Narrative Therapy to understand the themes, influences, and rules in your life story; third-wave frameworks like Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to cultivate wellbeing and value-driven living; and psychodynamic principles to explore how your early life and childhood experiences impact your current life. I also incorporate mindfulness and psychoeducation into my practice to help strengthen your ability to be attentive of your mental health and manage your distress.
Outside of clinical work, I enjoy doing research into LGBTQ+ experiences and issues related to death and dying, topics close to my heart that I feel passionate about in terms of improving access, awareness, and open dialogue.Â
