Nova Eifert
About the Therapist
I am a warm and compassionate Psychotherapist based in Hove. I gained an MSc from the Birkbeck University in London in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2015. I am also trained as an EMDR (Eye Movement and Desensitisation Reprocessing) therapist, which is the NHS recommended treatment for symptoms of trauma.
I firmly believe the combination of talking therapy and somatic processing (treating our nervous systems) can help my clients achieve the changes they want.
Helping clients integrate their difficulties and trauma to find peace and acceptance is my passion.
As a Nurse and Sexual health adviser for over 18 years in both London and Brighton, I have experience of diagnosing people with HIV, STI's. I have the sensitivity to hold those who have experienced sexual trauma, domestic/relationship abuse as well as distress from burnout.
Throughout my career as an NHS sexual health expert and a Psychotherapist I have extensive experience of working with those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex and non-binary and those who might be wanting a space to explore their identity and/or sexuality as well as supporting people through their transition.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), an EMDR-trained therapist, and am also registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Are you feeling stuck or overwhelmed? Struggling with relationships? Experiencing anxiety/depression/low self-esteem?
Life can sometimes feel confusing, isolating, or simply too much to handle alone. You might be facing challenges that leave you feeling exhausted, confused, lost or disconnected from yourself and others.
I am trained as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (MSc level) and as an EMDR therapist(Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing). This NHS recommended treatment can relieve symptoms of PTSD and create lasting change. I have worked as a sexual health nurse and adviser for over 18 years in the NHS and I specialise in HIV and STI related stigma, sexual trauma and burnout.
I work in an LGBTQIA+ affirmative and neurodiversity affirming way that is sensitive to shame, marginalisation and is thoughtful, safe and tailored to your unique journey.
I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where we can explore what's going on for you, at your own pace. Together, we can work towards understanding patterns, easing emotional struggles and finding a way forward that is more manageable and authentic for you.
