These are psychotherapists and counsellors. Although there is a separate category for sex- and sexuality-related practitioners, most therapists in this category will certainly discuss sexual issues, and many will work with them.
Beginning therapy can feel daunting, so if you’re here reading this then you have already taken a big step. Therapy can offer a space for personal insight, understanding, growth and change. I offer a confidential, inclusive, non-judgemental, and safe space for exploration and reflection. I also believe that humour, play and creativity have a place in therapy and can play key roles in coming to terms with hardships and loss, and of healing. To book an initial session drop me an email or send me a message via my website: www.lindsayrochetherapy.co.uk.
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist based in comfortable rooms in Hove. I use  EMDR to support freedom from symptoms of trauma (PTSD) and to create lasting change. I specailise in HIV and STI-related stigma, burnout and other forms of trauma. I work in an LGBTQIA+ affirmative and neurodiversity-affirming way that is sensitive to shame and marginalisation. I provide a non-judgmental, thoughtful and safe space, tailored to your unique journey.
You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed or dissatisfied with your life, despite appearing to have things together on the outside. Perhaps you are someone others often rely on, yet privately find yourself struggling with anxiety, overthinking, self-criticism or a persistent sense that something isn’t quite right. Often, the people I work with have spent years adapting to the expectations of others while losing touch with their own needs, desires and sense of self. They may feel disconnected and stuck in familiar patterns, wondering how they arrived at a life that no longer feels entirely their own.
The Joy of my work is meeting people from many walks of life, each with their own unique story. I am an experienced counsellor within the LGBTQ+ community (of which I am a part). I also have lived experience of neurodiversity and have supported many neurodivergent clients. I work affirmatively with these communities although my practice is open to all. Over the years, I have worked in different mental health settings, in the charity sector and in movement, performance and creativity.
