I work in Private Practice from Farringdon and New Cross Gate. I identify as queer and genderfluid. After starting my working life as an actor, I began my counselling journey over 30 years ago as a Samaritan volunteer and spent 10 years working as a Counselling Supervisor at ChildLine. I managed METRO charity’s LGBTQIA+ Counselling service for 11-25 year olds, as well being responsible for covering the Over 25 service. I am a member of the Gendered Intelligence Network for Therapists and Counsellors. I also am a qualified teacher. Please see my website for current availability.

I am a UPCA accredited psychotherapeutic counsellor. Since 2011, I have worked as a psychotherapist and counsellor, support worker and group worker. As well as my private practice, I currently work for a young person’s charity supporting young queer humans navigate the many complexities inherent in growing up queer in a society that still ‘others’ – alongside the more ordinary complexities of what it means to be human.
As a Chartered Psychologist and HCPC Registered Counselling Psychologist (PYL18238), I specialise in talking therapies, the therapeutic relationship and understanding psychological distress in non-pathologising ways, taking into account the social and cultural contexts of each person. We can meet online or in person, in Leith, Edinburgh or Dalkeith. **November 2025 – Unfortunately I don’t have any availability for new clients or supervisees currently, and I will review this mid-January 2026**
With regards to my life before the year 2000, I think it is sufficient to say that having dropped out of A level studies in 1972, I spent the next 28 years in a variety of life and work experiences. Some good, some bad yet now, in retrospect, I feel all have been meaningful in giving me the very necessary experience and knowledge of life’s ups and downs to enable me to do what I do now. My life experience, as well as my work in the community, has taught me how unique everyone is and how important it is

My work as a psychotherapist and Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) is focused solely on supporting people from the LGBTQ+ community. Using Transactional Analysis (TA), I support people to live life with greater autonomy, whether related to dealing with past issues or living life with greater authenticity today. TA is all about change, so together we will explore the issues you bring to sessions and look to find ways to change how you think, feel and behave in relation to these problems. I am experienced in supporting people with many mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, suicide, identity, loneliness, and
