Lianne Terry is a Psychotherapist who employs Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centred therapy to aid clients who are struggling to find happiness. As a qualified counsellor she specialises in exploring relationships, family dynamics and the process of healing childhood wounds. Having embarked on her own journey to happiness and self-empowerment by addressing past pain, Lianne is intimately familiar with the challenges of coping with anxiety and depression stemming from past wounds. She understands the experience of carrying pain without a clear understanding of its origins and the effort required to unravel and rebuild from it. Today, Lianne considers herself content
I am a queer psychotherapist specialising in gender, sexuality, and relationship diversity. I work with adults and older adolescents who are LGBTQIA+/gender non-conforming, or questioning their identities. I also specialise in trauma recovery, and treating healthcare professionals. I work from multiple affirming perspectives, including Health at Every Size, neurodivergence affirming, disability affirming, and fat-positive perspectives. My therapeutic approach is trauma-sensitive, empowering, attentive to culture, informed by historically marginalised communities, and includes evidence-based approaches. I am trained in and provide Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) for treating trauma, including childhood, sexual, relationship, and discrimination based traumas.
Hi, I’m Jay, a counsellor working in Cornwall & online. I love this work, I love helping people who need a place to be themselves, in a way that the world so often doesn’t want to allow. People say I’m calm, warm and easy to trust and I hope I can be that for you too. I have ten years experience working as a counsellor, a lot of that time with people from the queer community. I’m qualified to help you with anxiety, depression, relationships and loss. My own story helps me understand yours, I get that for some people
I am an queer trans man (he/him) in my 30s, from West Yorkshire. I come from a working class background, so I understand the importance of keeping therapy affordable. I work remotely with clients from all over the UK, as well as face-to-face in Wakefield city centre. I use the person-centred approach in my practice, and I qualified in 2022. If you’re unsure if I am the right therapist for you, you can book a one off session at a discounted rate with no pressure to continue sessions if I am not the right fit for you.
My approach is a combination of trauma-informed parts work and creative exercises. I also believe that our struggles and beliefs often rest against a cultural, societal or religious backdrop and I often explore these aspects with clients. I believe a lot of healing can happen through creative expression and shining a light on the narratives that currently drive us. Exploring the parts of yourself that have been buried under layers of trauma or conditioning is never an easy journey to undertake alone. I would be honoured to accompany you on excursions into the unknown, the dark,
I have worked within mental health services for over 10 years and have seen the benefit counselling and psychotherapy can have on an individual’s mental health. I believe having a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings greatly improves a person’s mental health. I am trained to work psychodynamically.
Welcome. I’m Em (She/Her) a qualified integrative counsellor and registered BACP and Creative Counsellors member, providing short and long term individual therapy in York. I work to help people discover and accept who they are, what they want, to find their voice and make the changes they need to live a more fulfilling life. I provide inclusive, diversity-aware counselling, working respectfully and collaboratively across cultures and differences.
I am a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor and Accredited/Registered member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and Prof/Accred member of NCS (National Counselling Society). I am also a member of EMDR Association UK.Â
I currently have daytime and early evening availability. I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and my approach to therapy has been informed by both person-centred and psychodynamic approaches, alongside attention to what our bodies might hold and can tell us. This means that as well as recognising you as the expert on your own experiences, we may look back at some of your early and family history and how those relationships may be influencing what is happening for you in the present.Â
