I’m Bhuvan Briah a culturally sensitive integrative psychotherapist that helps people navigating generational trauma or difficult family dynamics, cultural identity, immigration and diasporic experiences, ADHD and neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+ identities, polyamory and kink-affirming relationships, narcissistic abuse, toxic shame, or an inner critic that won’t quiet down This is a space where all parts of you are welcome. My approach is explorative and collaborative and I work in a way that is rooted in anti-colonial practices. My hope is that if you are looking for a therapist that understands your experiences without you having to do the emotional labour to explain yourself

Perhaps you want to see if there is another way of telling your story. My intention is to grow a unique and collaborative relationship with you. We may work on your present situation as well as the whole of your history. Putting it as simply as I can: I provide a confidential space in which you’ll be able to talk openly.

Jonathan Izard

I have 25 years’ experience providing therapy for couples, individuals and groups. I’ve worked as an actor, author and award-winning journalist at the BBC. In the 1990s I volunteered with the Terrence Higgins Trust. I trained at Richmond College and Thames Valley University, with studies in couple and sex therapy at Birkbeck College. I’ve been a counsellor at West London Centre for Counselling, a group facilitator for male survivors of sexual abuse at Survivors UK, and a sex therapist for a national newspaper. At City Lit Institute I’ve offered professional development workshops, facilitated personal development groups and taught trainee counsellors.

I’m a queer therapist working with LGBTQ+ people and creatives, and often people who are both. I came to therapy partly through my own experience of navigating identity, and I bring that alongside 20 years as a working musician and artist. When you talk about your queer life or your creative work, I’m not translating. I’m with you. Sessions are calm, insightful and honest. I’ll listen carefully and push back when it seems useful. gently, but genuinely. I work in person at London Bridge and Golders Green, and online.
