I am also a gay person and a dad, and I have ‘lived’ as well as professional experience of the challenges these identities can bring. I’m Ben Ross (MNCPS Acc.), a Gestalt counsellor working right opposite Liverpool Street Station, London. I trained in counselling at the Gestalt Centre, London, and am an accredited registrant member of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). My work is LGBTQIA+ affirming, trauma-informed and neurodivergence-aware. I often offer support with anxiety, depression, shame, self-worth, relationships, identity and belonging. I try to hold identity as something layered, lived and personal. I’m interested in the emotional cost of hiding, adapting, performing, or making yourself acceptable to others, while staying curious about power, culture, belonging, safety, and the systems people have had to live within.
