I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and my approach to therapy has been informed by both person-centred and psychodynamic approaches, alongside attention to what our bodies might hold and can tell us. I’m Emma Wallen, a double-accredited and award-winning integrative couples therapist working with queer individuals and couples, including lesbian relationships and partners navigating non-normative relationship structures. Many of the queer couples I work with come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns of conflict, emotional distance, or power struggles that don’t fit neatly into heterosexual relationship models. Others are carrying the impact of family rejection, cultural expectations, racism, or the pressure to “get it right” after working so hard to be themselves. Therapy can be the first place where those layers are truly seen together. My approach is relational, grounded, and practical.
