My identity as a Black gay man deeply informs my work as a therapist. I bring not only professional training but also personal insight into the challenges of navigating spaces that may not always affirm your full self. I understand the emotional weight of seeking belonging and the courage it takes to move toward self-acceptance. This lived experience allows me to hold a compassionate, affirming space for others on their own journeys. I am here

I’m a queer, transcultural Hackney-based BACP Accredited Gestalt Therapist. I offer a warm, intentional space to connect with what’s figural for you. I provide relational support to deepen your awareness of your mental health and who/how you are intersectionally.

For the right to live and exist openly. This Pride Month, I’m thinking of everyone who has had to fight, hide, explain or defend who they are. My work is LGBTQIA+ affirming, trauma-informed and neurodivergence-aware. I often offer support with anxiety, depression, shame, self-worth, relationships, identity and belonging. I try to hold identity as something layered, lived and personal. I’m interested in the emotional cost of hiding, adapting, performing, or making yourself acceptable to others, while staying curious about power, culture, belonging, safety, and the systems people have had to live within.

From navigating trauma and distress, to exploring identity and intimacy, my practice is rooted in flexibility, collaborative trust, and evidence-based care. I believe that therapy allows you to take a more active role in understanding and experiencing your emotions, thoughts and beliefs. When we are not aware of our patterns, it can mean we act out certain behaviours, or experience certain feelings, without knowing why. And while we might be able to tolerate this for some time – perhaps even for a long time – I believe there is a difference between simply surviving and truly living.

I’m a Psychotherapist with over eighteen years’ experience supporting people through anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life changes, grief, and trauma. I offer a safe, supportive space where you can speak openly about what you’re going through. Exploring your experiences together with curiosity and care, while also developing strategies and tools to support you, can lead to greater insight and a deeper sense of ease within yourself.

I provide a confidential, non-judgemental space for you to become more self-aware and develop in your own unique way. I encourage you to have an initial assessment session to find out whether I’m the right therapist for you, and for me to find out more about your needs. I offer an initial, free 15-minute consultation via phone. I offer eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, the Rewind technique for trauma, as well as counselling.

I am an experienced psychotherapist, professor and senior higher education leader. I am also a gay person and a dad, and I have ‘lived’ as well as professional experience of the challenges these identities can bring. Alongside my psychotherapy practice, I have served on university executive boards and as a Pro Vice-Chancellor. This has given me a particular understanding of responsibility, leadership, professional identity and the pressures carried by LGBTQ+ people who are used to being relied upon.
