Hi, I am Kingsley Ampomah Boateng, an integrative therapist, clinical supervisor and mediator based in South Shields and online. I offer warm, LGBTQIA+ and GSRD-affirming therapy for people navigating identity, relationships, trauma and grief. My practice is collaborative and non-judgmental, with a particular focus on culture, race, migration, and the diverse ways people love and live. Together, we can slow things down, make sense of what hurts, and support you in building steadier ground, creating more choices, and cultivating a kinder relationship with yourself.

As a queer person and part of the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities, I have experience working with people of different genders, relationship styles and sexualities and strive for an inclusive practice. I am trans and nonbinary affirmative, anti-fascist, anti-racist and feminist. I work towards an anti-oppressive practice and educate myself around intersectionality. I aim to create a calm, containing space in which to talk, using my training in mindfulness.

As a psychotherapist, I am interested in what makes life worth living. Whatever you may be struggling with, I offer a warm and non-judgemental space for us to explore what might lie beneath it, in the unconscious. My training in psychoanalysis means my approach is centred around an invitation for you to speak freely, and that I will pay careful attention such that – together – we might come to better understand things like your childhood, traumatic experiences, challenging relationship patterns and desires.
