Effective psychotherapy can substantially improve states of anxiety, depression and impulsiveness. Together we will seek to build a detailed picture of your life and mind, thinking carefully and creatively about the patterns and dilemmas that you have decided need to be better understood in the service of instituting positive and lasting change. My approach is psychoanalytic (sometimes also called psychodynamic) and I do not provide quick-fix answers, directive advice, or hastily formed diagnoses. Instead, my sole aim is to facilitate meaningful and lasting internal change through a process of deep listening and an atmosphere that promotes imaginative insight and profound

It takes immense courage to address the experiences that hold us back. Based in Brighton and Hove, I am deeply passionate about and committed to supporting the LGBTQ+ community. Over years of dedicated

LGBTQ+ affirmative, trauma-informed therapy for people who have always felt different in some way. The world can be a hard place for people who feel a lot. You might have been told you’re too sensitive or too much. There’s space for you to put down who you’ve been told you ‘should’ be and come as you are. You might be struggling with anxiety, relationships or an over-active inner critic. Perhaps you often find it hard to trust your decisions and feel anxious that you’re doing everything wrong. Or you find yourself replaying conversations in your head, cringing and wondering why

You might be feeling stressed out, overwhelmed, confused and facing challenges that are uncomfortable and distressing for you. It’s not always easy or possible to speak about what’s going on with friends, family, partners or colleagues for fear of being judged or misunderstood. This can leave you feeling unseen, unheard, worried and alone. Person-centred counselling provides a supportive, inclusive and affirmative relationship to share about what’s really going on. No judgements here. Just warmth, understanding and practical support with the next steps. As well as offering person-centred counselling I also run retreats teaching mindfulness, nature connection, yoga and small group

I am a counsellor working from rooms in Holborn/Chancery Lane and Hackney. I also provide counselling online. The largest part of my work is with Queer / LGBTQ+ clients, and I have previously worked with two LGBTQ+ organisations (Switchboard and East London Out Project). I have had additional specialist training from Gendered Intelligence and Pink Therapy. My core training is in humanistic counselling so I am trained in a range of approaches, but primarily practice using gestalt therapy. I am committed to a trans-affirming, queer-affirming, anti-racist approach.
