As a member of the LGBTQI+ community I have experience, not only as an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, but an authentically lived understanding of the challenges faced. I work pluralistically which means that our time together will be specifically tailored to you. We will look holistically at your unique world from a calm, confidential, non-judgemental perspective. My aim will be to help you gain clarity, work on growth and assist you to find your way.
Welcome. I’m Em (She/Her) a qualified integrative counsellor and registered BACP BiCA (British Infertility Counselling Association) and Creative Counsellors member, providing short and long term individual and relationship therapy in York. I work to help people discover and accept who they are, what they want, to find their voice and make the changes they need to live a more fulfilling life. I provide inclusive, diversity-aware counselling, working respectfully and collaboratively across cultures and differences.
I’m a neurodivergent, queer and trans therapist. I know what it’s like to feel anxious, overwhelmed, low or just plain exhausted by trying to exist in a world that isn’t designed with us in mind. The things that affect you often affect me too — I don’t sit above you as “the expert.” Instead, I bring my own lived experience alongside my training and tools as a therapist.
