I’m Maithili (“mightily”), a BACP-registered psychodynamic psychotherapist. I work with GSRD clients, including those questioning or exploring sexuality and/or gender, and those navigating relationships, coming out, identity shifts, and family dynamics. I have particular experience supporting clients whose sexuality or gender intersects with race, culture, migration, or faith, who may be negotiating multiple cultural worlds. I offer in-person sessions in London (Harley Street, Mayfair and The City) and across West Surrey (Farnham, Guildford, Godalming and Haslemere), as well as online. Using psychodynamic and evidence-based approaches, together we explore how past experiences shape your relationship with yourselves, others, and the world.

I’m a relational psychotherapist, experienced in working with issues to do with gender and sexuality, relationship diversity (polyamory, non-monogamy etc) and provide an LGBTQ+ affirmative practice, but welcome clients from all backgrounds. I am mindful of the social, cultural and structural issues involved in the difficulties we face as individuals. I believe that therapy can help with so many issues, whether they feel vague or specific, and allow us to come to a better understanding of ourselves and our histories so we can live fuller, more authentic lives.

I am a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and CBT Counsellor with training in Transpersonal Psychology and Therapeutic Group Facilitation. I am currently working towards a qualification in Psychedelics Assisted Psychotherapy. I believe we can heal from trauma. We have an innate healing intelligence, but things can get in the way of getting in touch with. I view therapy as a supportive, collaborative, creative process that creates the right environment for that innate healing intelligence to bring about emotional healing. My practice offers both short-term, focused sessions and long-term, open-ended sessions.  Together, we will address the topics and issues that bring you to counselling at your own pace.  With many years of professional experience, personal experience and trust in the capacity for healing, I look forward to meeting with you.

I view therapy as a guide that encourages you to explore what you may have missed or ignored. I work with clients by encouraging different aspects of their personalities to find their voice.
