Hi, my name is Jo (she/they). I am a person cantered counsellor which means I am here to accompany you with empathy and, without judgment, as you get to know yourself better and find your own way to let your potential flow. I am queer and seek to be inclusive in my practice. I have experience as a counsellor at organisations that work generally with LGBTQIA+ people and specifically trans and non-binary people. Hello, I’m Mark. You may be feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or simply in need of a space to reflect. Perhaps you’re navigating trauma, identity, cultural pressures, or life transitions. You want to be heard without judgment and supported in a way that respects your unique experience. As an ally of the LGBT+ communities, and together with my person-centred approach, which is sensitive to trauma and cultural contexts, I aim to offer a safe, respectful space where you can bring any thoughts or feelings and be listened to attentively.
I specialise in working with men from various backgrounds who are struggling with anxiety or depression. I welcome clients of all genders, though my practice mainly attracts men. Much of my work involves exploring relationship issues, self-esteem, or the competing pressures of work and home. I know how hard it can be to open up, and I offer a space where you don’t have to put on a front. As a gay man, I understand how identity and minority stress can affect self-worth and mental health. I work integratively, tailoring my approach to suit your needs as therapy develops.

You might feel caught in patterns of thinking or living that no longer fit, or something may have happened that’s changed the way you see everything. If this feels familiar, I can help. I offer a safe, confidential space where you can talk things through, gain insight, and begin to move forward. I’m fully qualified, BACP registered and work with people in Brighton and online.
